Hitchmate Cargo Carrier, transporting for your active lifestyle

Testimonials

STEPHEN from Sydney (NSW) says –
I recently completed a fairly extensive trip to the Central West of New South Wales with my motor scooter attached to the back of our Winnebago motorhome. HitchMate provided the fantastic bike rack which endured rough back roads without any problem at all. It also provided a great conversation piece as people always want to know all about this wonderful beautifully constructed product. The after sales service was really great and nothing was too much for Annette and Rob. Thank you for all your kind help and I would certainly recommend this product without any hesitation. (March 2017)

NED from Cherry Gardens (SA) says –
Hi Robert and Annette, the carrier works perfectly, thanks for your business, it made our travelling much more practical. All the best, Ned. (March 2017)

NEIL and SANDY from Caboolture (Qld) say –
I looked for Hitchmate after seeing one of your motorcycle carriers on a motorhome. When we bought a large VW van to convert to a motorhome, we needed a solution for local transport when we were parked up at a caravan park. A small motor scooter on a Hitchmate carrier is the ideal solution. No extra fuel, no issues towing a vehicle or a trailer, and completely secure transport of the scooter. Without rushing or doing a time and motion study, I can attach and detach the carrier from the vehicle in less than ten minutes per operation. I can load and unload the scooter easily and safely on my own in a few minutes (not worth timing it). I was impressed with the quality of materials and workmanship of the carrier, and very happy with the service we received. Great to see a quality product at a reasonable price being manufactured locally by a very nice couple. We wish you every success in your business. (February 2017)

KEVIN and ANNETTE from Port Macquarie (NSW) say –
Home again after our trip North and this is just a short note to say many thanks for your fantastic service while we were in Kawana – saw you Friday afternoon and had the box installed on the back of our motorhome by Monday afternoon. That’s what I call service, once again many thanks, the box is fantastic and solved our storage problems. Regards to you both. Kevin & Annette. (October 2016)

TINA from Greenwood (WA) says –
Here are 2 photos of the hitchmate in use recently, all going well. Thanks. (December 2015)

TERRY and CLARE from Ballarat (VIC) say –
I was looking to provide additional portable power for our motorhome so we purchased a generator. The generator certainly fixed our portable power problems but also created another problem for us which was how were we going to transport it and this is when Hitchmate came to the rescue.
Hitchmate was able to provide the perfect cargo carrier for our motorhome to transport the generator and also complimented this with a custom made generator box. The Hitchmate cargo carrier and generator box does not look like a cheap add on but professional made from quality materials and the finish is of a very high standard. Robert and Annette from Hitchmate are lovely people and we found them very easy to deal with. They answered all our questions promptly and kept us up to date on the manufacturing and approximate delivery time. I should also mention how well the product was packaged and arrived in good order having travelled from QLD to Victoria. So if you are looking to transport cargo give Robert or Annette a call at Hitchmate to discuss you needs, you won't be disappointed. Regards Terry & Clare from Ballarat. (December 2015)

ANDREW from Lightning Ridge (NSW) says –
I was looking for a solution to a relatively simple problem - how to easily move a 45kg, 3.5 KVa generator out to my mining claim without the need for it to sit permanently on a trailer or ute? The answer was HitchMate - who designed a perfect platform for the towbar of my car. My generator can remain out of the weather when not needed, and only takes a few minutes to secure to the carrier. Copes with our dirt roads with no troubles at all. Brilliant idea, and has saved me from having to purchase a second vehicle. Thanks Annette and Robert. (August 2015)

JOHN from Box Hill (NSW) says –
The box arrived yesterday in good shape and well wrapped. The generator box is well made to a high standard and just what I expected from HitchMate. The generator fits perfectly. In the process of fitting now to the van bumper and when finished will send pics. (July 2015)

GARY and WENDY from Howrah (TAS) say –
First heard about HitchMate online whilst researching how I could carry my 126 kg scooter successfully on the rear of my XLWB Fiat Ducato Van here in Tasmania. I contacted the company and from then on it was a pleasure dealing with Robert and Annette. Sure, we had a couple of hiccups with the tyranny of distance and wanting a custom fit, but all was overcome with a smile from Robert and a couple of hours thinking about it and fitting the solution. I'm absolutely happy with the end result. The doors on our Winnebago Escape can still be opened so the rear shower can be accessed and we haven't "bottomed out" with the custom made riser bar Robert made for us. Since fitting I have had a number of people coming up for a look and asking all sorts of questions. I'm so happy that I gush with excitement and give them one of the brochures that Robert was happy to supply to me on asking. So thank you Robert and Annette for your well made rack and for your wonderful service. (September 2014)

DENNIS from Geelong West (VIC) says –
I have received the HitchMate and have successfully fitted it to my motorhome and test fitted the scooter. I am very happy with the way it is set up with the braces and anti rattle bracket which make it a solid addition to the motorhome. It is obviously very well made and you have thought of everything and included everything necessary in the kit. The riser was a good option as it gets everything up out of the way. I am going to feel comfortable now with the scooter on the back knowing that it is safe and sound. Thanks again. Dennis. (June 2014)

BEV and JOHN (Auckland NZ: travelling in Australia) say –
John and I would like to thank you both for your help and kindness - we are thrilled with our HitchMate and box. (May 2014)

JOHN from Mooloolah Valley (QLD) says –
We had our "maiden voyage" with the bike carrier today...Yahoo!!! All went superbly.no problem with clearance on the driveway, the tiedowns worked a treat, and very little movement anywhere. The back doors open with no problem.you are a genius. Thank you for all your efforts in solving our biking dilemma..your professionalism and skills are very much appreciated. (April 2014)

David and Chris (NSW) say –
Nice talking to you at the Caravan and Camping show. Attached are some photos of our Pinto with Scooter and bikes loaded. As discussed we purchased our Pinto from Australian Motor Homes. We get comments nearly every day on the road about the scooter rack. We have found the whole setup works well and we have become proficient at getting scooter and bikes on and off as required. We can use one without taking down the other. I am pleased I went for the heavy duty HitchMate. (April 2014)

Mark from Illawong (NSW) says –
Hey Guys, Everything arrived safe and sound as it was packed extremely well. The production quality is very good and better than I had expected, so well done. (October 2013)

Geoffrey from Dayboro (QLD) says –
I was keen to buy a motor home and equally keen to take my Yamaha R15 with me on my travels. It was not as straight forward as I imagined, finding a motorhome which could legally be fitted with a carrier which could carry my bike. From the very first contact with Robert and Annette at Hitchmate, they were patience personified. I regularly contacted them with my latest potential acquisition. They would advise me whether or not the particular model could legally be fitted to the motorhome. Once I had my 'new home', the fitting of the carrier could not have gone smoother. By mid morning of the appointed day I was on my way home, thoroughly pleased with the whole experience. I have carried my motorcycle around on a number of occasions now - to be honest, I was apprehensive to say the least - would I manage to load and unload the bike on my own without creating material for funniest home videos? Would the bike remain on the carrier for the whole trip, regardless of the road surface, heavy braking and twisting roads? I am now completely comfortable with every aspect of my motorhome, my motorbike and my Hitchmate. I would gladly speak to anyone who has any questions and would recommend the Hitchmate product unreservedly. Many thanks to you both. (October 2013)

NIGEL from Hendra (QLD) says –

Hi Rob & Annette, sending a picture of the Virago on the Hitchmate, thank you both for your help, and wonderful service (August 2013)

TREVOR and ROBIN from Boreen Point (QLD) say –
Short on stowage? Don't want to tow a trailer? HitchMate is your answer! Our RV is a slide-on on a six wheel Toyota V8 GXL. We had a stowage problem for our stairway, recovery tracks and levelling board and blocks. I didn't want to tow a trailer. HitchMate was a problem solver. Have travelled to 'n from Canberra 'n Corowa where we are now. Pack all we want on HitchMate. Bloody beeeuuuuteeefullll. Luv it. (August 2013)

JOHN from Dicky Beach (QLD) says –
Sorry that this has taken so long to get to you but we've only just got back from the outback where we used the spare tyre carrier that you made for us. The carrier worked perfectly over some very rough roads throughout far western Queensland and up into the Gulf. We didn't have any trouble with it whatsoever and didn't even have to tighten it up or adjust it at all throughout. A really great product. (August 2013)

TERRENCE from Ormeau Hills (QLD) says –
Love it. (August 2013)

ROBERT from Upper Mount Gravatt (QLD) says –
Feedback on luggage carrier: Very pleased with it. Nothing moved or generated any noticeable play and believe me this trip was rough. In the desert alone we crossed more than a thousand dunes. Upon departure and throughout the trip my friends all remarked on how well it's made. Despite the heavy load and loss of traction on the front wheels, I only got stuck once. This was a particularly boggy part at the top of one of the dunes. My tyre pressures were not low enough and when I tried to manoeuvre out of it, I backed it into a sandy edge and the rear wheels just dug in. Got out quickly with some assistance. As for the rest of the trip, great and more so on the third day through the desert when I started shedding a bit of weight in the back. Overall I'm happy to suggest that the concept is very successful and that your design passed an extreme road test over 6000 km's with flying colours. Many thanks. (July 2013)

Tony from Farmborough Heights (NSW) says –
Thanks Robert, it has been a pleasure doing business with you guys, will recommend your company to others. Kind regards.(July 2013)

Bob and Jackie from Young (NSW) say –
Our HitchMate & riser arrived safely on Monday. We are very pleased with them. Also your instructions were very clear & helpful. Thank you for the 'No-Rattle' Towbar bracket - what a great idea. It has been a pleasure to do business with you both. Many thanks & best wishes, Bob & Jackie. (June 2013)

RAF from Brisbane (QLD) says –
Hi guys. Bought a HitchMate off road bike carrier from you a few months back and promised I'd send you a photo with the bike on board. Sorry for the delay, life's been a little hectic and I also wanted a chance to test this gizmo out before writing to you.

Please see attached photo. I don't think I've ever written to a supplier and sung the praises of their product, but I think this is a worthy exception. In short, delighted with your product. The design and workmanship are top notch. It takes me less than 5 minutes to load the bike on my own and tie down, which is also very easy to do. Probably a bit less time to unload. A few friends have some wobbly alternatives. Your simple, effective design is very stable and will outlast my Landcruiser. Well worth every dollar. Will be back in 5 years to fit to my new car when the cruiser throws in the towel. I get asked about the carrier every time I stop for diesel with the bike on the back and I suggest they head your way. Starting to think I should be on commission!

Thanks again. All the best, Raf. (April 2013)

OWEN from Townsville (QLD) says –
Robert and Annette, I just wanted to let you know that I'm very happy with my HitchMate. It is a pleasure to buy something where everything fits like it should, and is finished to such a high standard. I haven't loaded the bike on yet, I'm doing that tomorrow so will take some photos and send them to you. Thanks for everything.

I've just got back from a 1000 km trip to the Atherton Tablelands and can say that the HitchMate is 100% rock solid, the bike never moved and I found it very easy to load and unload the bike on my own. Once again, thanks very much for putting such a great product on the market. (October 2012)

DAVID from North Tamborine (QLD) says –
As promised attached are the photos taken at the conclusion, today, of the installation of the product you have so professionally manufactured and fitted. Diane is impressed, as I am, with the box, carrier and HitchMate product as a whole and especially the thought and suggestions made by you when we envisaged the need for a container attached near, but not on, the rear of our motor home to cater for the secure containment of our folding electric bikes. So, once more Robert, thank you very much for your effort, which is just the job. All the best. (June 2012)

PETER from Bellevue Hill (NSW) says –
The product is brilliant! I can now carry odd shapes and sizes that didn't fit in the car and large dirty items and/or that would scratch the interior. It gives so much more space in the boot when travelling and is easier to load/access than onto the roof racks. The quality surpassed my expectations. I have ordered many vehicle items over the years from the U.S. - all sorts of equipment and gadgets for my cars, bikes and boat. This product is made durable, built to last, innovative, and looks the part too - even the added aluminium cable protective conduit. Well done! (May 2012)

HOLGER from Melville (WA) says –
We went on a big Road trip, Perth => Karijini => Exmouth => Carnarvon => Perth, all together around 4,000km and probably the half of it on gravel roads. We also went off-road to reach beautiful bush camps just next to the ocean. Everything went really well and the HitchMate did a very good job. (April 2012)

PETER from Harrington (NSW) says –
Just a short note to thank you once again for helping me out a few weeks ago with the supply and fitting of the motorcycle HitchMate to my Winnebago. Your knowledge and kind assistance at such short notice was a big help to me. I am very pleased with the product and wish you continuing success in your business. (March 2012)

LIONEL and DAWN from North Ryde (NSW) say –
This is to tell you that our Hitchie arrived on time as you promised. It was very securely wrapped with no transit damage. The Hitchie is a piece of precision kit with an excellent finish. The modified riser is an added bonus. It took about twenty minutes to assemble and attach to the towbar. The assembly instructions actually made sense! The anti-rattle device is a useful component, too. Every part was there, including a little tube of glue to ensure the nuts stay tight. The Hitchie is an excellent product and a source of interest to other motorhome owners. We are very happy to recommend this quality product. (September 2011)

DARYL from Sydney (NSW) says –
I was after a solution that allowed me to tow my caravan yet also be able to transport my motorbike, which I normally transport in a box trailer. I approached Hitchmate and Robert was immediately very helpful and worked with both myself and a caravan manufacturer to provide a solution. I am impressed with quality of the product and extra effort provided to come up with a solution to a non standard application. (August 2011)

CHRIS from Balcatta (WA) says –
Great product ... give you that extra carrying capacity without the requirement of towing a trailer which is excellent. (January 2011)

JOHN and BRENDA from Townsville (QLD) say –
Have just had a cargo carrier and alloy box fitted by Motoco Townsville supplied by you. I want to tell you how impressed I am with your product in particular the well made sturdy and practical alloy box. It has allowed me to put my generator and jerry cans in there with still some room to spare. As always Motoco Townsville's service and work on this (their first) was excellent. (November 2010)

ALEX and NORMA from Geebung (QLD) say –
We recently purchased a custom built HitchMate and an aluminium alloy cargo box that Robert expertly fitted to our Fiat Ducato motor home. We are extremely pleased with the end result. Not only do they provide us with much needed extra storage space but they look good as well. The price for both products was very reasonable and Robert's quality of workmanship and attention to detail is second to none. (November 2010)

CHARLES from Nedlands (WA) says –
The package arrived safely. I am very impressed by your work. It is a work of art! Beautifully made, and all went together easily. (October 2010)

MICHAEL from Maslin Beach (SA) says –
Just want to let you know that the HitchMate you custom made for me works great. I've travelled over 2000 kms so far and it has performed fantastically. I've travelled over rough dirt tracks to highway use - all great. Thank you very much for your wonderful service and great product. (October 2010)

JOHN from Gold Coast (QLD) says –
Motorhome like a 5 star motel on wheels. HitchMate working like a dream. (August 2010)

NEAL and JANE from Canberra (ACT) say –
We have just returned from a trip of 11,500kms around Australia. The HitchMate was fantastic and had to stand up to some of the best and worst that Australia could throw our way, carrying fuel, water and a generator. We travelled across the Tanami track during heavy rain and went into the Bungle Bungles across water crossings. We just wanted to say that we are extremely pleased with our HitchMate carrier and wanted to thank you for a very strong product. We have attached a couple of photos. Thanks for all your assistance in having the right setup for our vehicle. (August 2010)

KEN and LINDA from South Gladstone (QLD) say –
I would like to thank you very much for your fantastic product. It is so advantageous for us as it allows us the flexibility and mobility to explore new regions and go to the local shops whilst being able to leave our motor-home set up in one place. One other advantage is not having to tow a trailer or car behind us, which in turn is far more economical on the fuel, not to mention parking. It is far easier without the added length. By keeping the motor-home at almost its original length it allows other vehicles an easier passage when having to pass us on the highway. Thank you once again for your assistance in fitting this rack and for your after sales advice and service. We wish you success in your future endeavours and look forward to dealing with you in the future. – PS: Please find enclosed some photos of our scooter and competition dirt bike that both fit and transport very well on your rack. (July 2010)

DAWN and COL from Cannon Hill (QLD) say –
We are very happy with the custom made HitchMate that you fitted to our Winnebago Birdsville in May 2010 to carry our electric bikes. It is perfect. Robert even came to his workshop on a Sunday just to fit it for us. That is very good service, and I would recommend, and have already done so, this company to anyone. And a big thanks to Annette for her constant feedback during the building of our HitchMate. Please feel free to use us as a reference at any time. (May 2010)

RICHARD from Doubleview (WA) says –
I purchased my HitchMate from Robert and Annette in July 2008, and subsequently had it fitted to my Jayco Conquest motorhome, to carry a Yamaha Scorpio motorcycle. I have been very pleased with the product and found it easy to use and substantially constructed. The Yamaha has done 22,500 km in the last 18 months, and has been on and off the HitchMate many times. It takes approximately 5 minutes to unload and about 10 minutes to reload, including the fitment of a cover. Having worked in the heavy equipment earthmoving industry, where the provision of service and backup is paramount, it is pleasing to note Robert and Annette's dedication to the improvement, and their ongoing interest in their product, once the sale has been made. (April 2010)

RODNEY from Townsville (QLD) says –
I purchased my HitchMate in May of 2009; I have found their customer service to be excellent, they are extremely easy to deal with and accommodating of any request. I have found that in comparison to other products their's is by far the best. If you are intending to travel long distances across many different terrains I would highly recommend you trust your cargo with a HitchMate. (March 2010)

JONATHAN from Newtown (NSW) says –
Just a quick note to thank you both for your patience and help in getting me the most appropriate 'thing' to carry my son's bike. It was worth the wait. Very happy with the service and exceptional quality of the equipment. Thanks again. (February 2010)

ALI and DOUG from Gaven (QLD) say –
Thank you for the great service when we came to your workshop. We are thrilled with our scooter carrier and can recommend your product to anyone looking for a well designed and manufactured cycle carrier. (January 2010)

DENISE from Battery Hill (QLD) says –
As I prepared my van for the road trip around Oz, I wanted the means to carry a scooter as alternative transport...but how to do this? The answer was discovered in my own backyard (my home is on the Sunshine Coast), when HitchMate was recommended to me at the camping/caravanning expo at Southport, 2009. From my first contact with them, Robert and Annette made me feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and we became friends. That has been the basis of this operation from the beginning. They recommended a towbar installer in Stafford, Brisbane, who saved me 2 months wait. They installed my carrier in less than a day, custom made and fitted to my requirements. They carefully instructed me in the use of it and supervised my first try. As a 70 year old, travelling solo, I can tell you, I appreciated this. They followed up with a phone call to make sure I was happy. I am about to embark on this trip of a lifetime, confident that my HitchMate carrier will hold my scooter securely. Thank you for your superb service, HitchMate! (January 2010)

NORMAN ROE (KEA CAMPERS) from Milperra (NSW) says –
Towage - The HitchMate Cargo Carrier is an alternative to a trailer or roof rack, which fixes to the back of your vehicle by way of the towbar. It will add extra length to your motorhome, but it's worth it for the extra storage for anything from cargo boxes through to motorbikes or scooters. It's a clever, versatile and Australian-made alternative to more cumbersome carrying options. ("All I want for Christmas is" in The Wanderer December 2009 - VIEW STORY)

SJAAK from Netherlands (travelling Australia) says –
The Hitchie with the Box have been a great feature on the van! Look at attached pictures for nice combination of van with Hitchie! Next year we plan to go north into Queensland and make a stop at your place to shake hands with you. (December 2009)

TREVOR from Mandurah (WA) says –
Many thanks for all your help. Please feel free to use my details as a reference to anybody in WA wishing to purchase. It is extremely stable and very solidly built. (June 2009)

RIC from Tingalpa (QLD) says –
My HitchMate carrier is working out well for me, and I use it all of the time carrying different gear for work and for home. I have attached some photo's of just some of the things I have carried on my HitchMate. (August 2009)

JOHN from Paddington (QLD) says –
I am extremely happy with the unit, and feel free to use me as a reference. Thought I would drop you a line to let you know that the kayak HitchMate set up is going great. (May 2009)

ALAN and DOREEN from UK (touring in motorhome) say –
Every problem for us was another success for Robert. HitchMate the problem solvers. (December 2008)

ALEX from Woolgoolga (NSW) says –
HitchMate works a treat, my little scooter is no problem for loading and unloading, travelling, it just does not move in any direction. (November 2008)

CLYDE and MARGARET from Dee Why (NSW) say –
Just wanted to say the HitchMate has arrived and we are very happy with it. It was very easy to install and very versatile. Thanks for your friendly and efficient service. (October 2008)

BILL and VAL, Kippa-Ring (QLD) say –
"This is an unsolicited testimonial for the Hitchie we purchased in February 2008 for my Winnebago Leasure Seeker. We needed an external storage capacity to carry all the necessary bits & pieces for an around Australia trip. The HitchMate product filled our need most admirably. Robert fitted a Trade Tools aluminium box to the platform and the bits and pieces fitted in perfectly, in fact we don't know where we found the room inside the motor home for all that stuff. We recently toured Australia, covering some 17,000 kilometres over all surfaces, some gravel included and the Hitchie did not move one fraction in that time. It continued to perform even when we were bouncing over some severe speed humps that are now installed in a great majority of caravan parks and shopping centre car parks. We would recommend HitchMate to anyone who is seeking extra storage capacity. " (July 2008)

VAL from Buderim (QLD) says –
"Until last year I owned a small utility that I found useful for both business and pleasure. Unfortunately it was getting old and I traded it up for a late model Subaru Forester. I missed the ability to be able to throw the odd bag of cement or fertilizer in the back without having to worry about the smell or dirtying the interior. HitchMate was the answer for my needs. It is quick and easy to attach and is nowhere near as troublesome to drive with as a trailer, nor does it need to be registered." (September 2007)

REG from Baderim Pty Ltd says –
I am sure you will recall making a carrier for one of our trail bikes, following discussions at the Nambour Show. We use a variety of ATVs and trail vehicles for access to difficult areas during mineral exploration work, to take staff into remote locations. In the past we have used trailers to carry some of these, though narrow tracks make the use of these cumbersome when reversing and tight corners are necessary. Sometimes trailers create more difficulty than they are worth. Besides the usefulness of trail bikes in the field, we have also taken into account the need for supplementary transport if a single 4WD vehicle should become bogged or break down far from the nearest town. For those reasons we decided to trial a bike carried on a HitchMate carrier behind a 4WD. We have now had the opportunity for two of our geologists to test this in remote locations. May we say how very pleased we are at the way it has performed. The bike rides very securely with no significant rocking or bouncing. The loading/unloading ramp carries well with no rattling on rough roads, and if used by one person it allows the bike to be easily wheeled up or down to/from the carrying position. The tie-down attachments are strong and secure and we are very pleased with the unit as supplied. It is easy to remove and store when not required. As our work expands we will look to ordering more of these. (September 2007)

MALCOLM from Cooktown (QLD) says –
The custom-made HitchMate that I purchased in May this year was a fantastic product that I can recommend to anyone without reservation. I was particularly impressed by the thoroughness and detailed attention that manufacturer paid to the making of the final product. I travelled from Brisbane to far north Cooktown in Queensland and back in the last four months, the HitchMate excelled and transported my motor scooter safely for the entire trip. (September 2007)

RICHARD from Brisbane (QLD) says –
I will introduce myself and give the history of how I came to own a HitchMate cargo carrier. I am 61 years old and have operated a one person gardening business for approx 9 years. My work vehicle up to February 2006 was a 1985 Toyota mid wheel base diesel Landcruiser wagon towing a 5x7 steel gardening trailer. Most of my customers are located around the Brisbane hilly suburb of St Lucia. In the last few years the traffic conditions making it very difficult with the trailer to find parking close to some customers and reversing into or out of a driveways, with one client living on a terrace with a very steep driveway that I have to take the trailer off at the top of the drive to be able to turn my vehicle around and then reconnect the trailer.

The HitchMate cargo carrier has allowed me to do things smarter for the following reasons:-

  1. Its given approx. 0.96 square meter more loading space.
  2. Allowing me to do away with trailer making easier to find car parking spaces closer to my clients making it safer to back out or into driveways and on the health side of things not lifting the trailer on and off the hitch.
  3. Have reduced my fuel consumption by approx 20% per month by not towing the trailer.
  4. Loading the mower onto the HitchMate is made easy and much quicker by the steel ramps and has taken the health aspect of lifting the mower onto the back of the ute tray out of the equation.
  5. The amount of wear and tear on the vehicle, especially the brakes, back tyres and transmission is greatly reduced by not towing a trailer.
  6. With no trailer to worry about I can drive in or reverse out of the garage without having to hitch or unhitch saving time and energy.
  7. After finishing my gardening round I often have to do some personal errands which means coming home unhitching the trailer and then going out, but with the HitchMate I go straight from the job saving time and fuel.
  8. HitchMate is quickly removed from back of vehicle and stored.

The HitchMate is a quality product and is a valuable tool to my type of business and has reduced my operating costs plus help to minimize safety and health issues. (August 2007)

RUSSELL & KIM from Brisbane (QLD) say –
Hi there, Robert and Annette, It has been nearly twelve months since I purchased the HitchMate for our personal use. To refresh yourselves about our situation, we are a family of seven and even with a Toyota landcruiser, when we travel, space is at a premium with all the luggage, souvenirs and baby needs [cots etc]. For future trips I was faced with the possibility of towing a trailer, which we were not keen on as this would slow down our progress when country travelling. Towing a trailer means that we would be slower as the trailer tends to sway at high speed and when manouvearing creates further difficulty. I first read about the HitchMate in the courier mail and thought that this might be a solution to our problem. When I saw the examples of the HitchMate at the Brisbane Ekka, I knew that a solution had been found. My wife and myself drove to Roberts and Annette's factory on the north coast and saw first hand what the HitchMate had to offer and the accessories available. Speaking to Robert about our needs, he showed how he would slightly modify the stand to suit our four wheel drive more so. My wife and myself were impressed about his genuine interest regarding our needs. Since purchasing the HitchMate, we have also bought the bicycle accessories and have used it as a bicycle carrier, which is much easier than the normal bike carrier. Also on a few short trips i.e. State Nipper carnivals, the HitchMate allowed us to carry our luggage as the roof was used to carry the nipper boards. Recently we did a trip to Broken Hill, we travelled approx. 6000 klms in twelve days. Fully loaded with the family and luggage. We have attached a photograph. We travelled over Highways, sand, gravel roads and bush tracks. In all instances we found the HitchMate to be sturdy, solid and we did not even notice we had it on except when people commented. It is easier to use than the roof cargo cage as all the packing is at tabular level not requiring us to stretch, or use ladders to load and unload. When attached during city driving, we found it to be easier than a trailer when reversing and the vehicle with the HitchMate can still fit into a normal parking spot. We consider the HitchMate to be value for money, suitable for a variety of purposes, of a high quality construction and not a vehicle accessory but an essential part for us. (August 2007)
